home moves 2
Smudge and Eddy have not been getting along very well which, this morning, culminated in Eddie losing a clump of hair when smudge attacked him. We have now purchased another cage for Eddie and they are now living apart and they both seem happier. I will put some pictures of their new accomodation up soon.
Home moves 1
Timo and stanley have moved to the other end of the patio. This was only going to be temporary as I treated the screen fence behind their hutch but the wife and daughter like the fact we can now see them from the kitchen window so it looks like its where they will stay
Our Visitor - Stanley
Stanley, the visiting guinea, has gone back home after a week with us that saw him getting showered, his nails cut and having a run out on the grass which he enjoyed.

A visitor arrives
Today we had another Piggie join the group although this one is only with us for a week as his owners go on holiday. His name is Stanley and I will post a picture of him tomorrow. He is much bolder than the other piggies and is not worried by the giants walking past his cage.

A quiet week
Not much has happened for the piggies this week. The usual rounds of cuddles, especially when my eldest daughter came to stay for a few days, plus the usual cage cleaning,
We have a few days off now and hopefully the weather will improve so that the piggies can go outside, pictures will follow if so.

In the garden
Today all the piggies had a nice few hours in the garden grazing and sunning themselves. Timo still gets randy when he hears the little piggies squeaking and Smudge only needs to hear a packet rustle to start squeaking loudly.

The new Piggies
Welcome to our two new piggies :
They are about 14 weeks old although we are not sure exactly, and they are about half the size of Timo and Stanley. They live outside in the hutch whilst the older boys are in the kitchen in their plastic hutch.
My next job, so my daughter informs me, is to build a double height hutch for them. will have to do something before the winter sets in.

Getting up to date
The piggies have not liked our recent heatwave, with temperatures of 30 degrees and higher they have suffered. We bought them indoors a few times with fans on them which perked them up a lot.
They went back outside and then, because of thunderstorms, they came back in again. Their hutch was cleaned out and, so my daughter said, we would use it to store their hay and sawdust. Then she asked to call in at the pet shop to get some sawdust where she then proceeded to con us into getting two more piggies from the adoption centre in the shop.
So now we have 4 piggies. I will introduce the two newcomers tomorrow once I have some nice pictures of them.

Overdue posting
The piggies are getting used to being back outside in their hutch again although as I type this they are in their plastic hutch in the living room. this is because the daughter washed them and they were still wet so she bought them in.
A few new pics of the boys appear below.

Back out in the hutch
Timo and Stanley have spent the winter and spring in the kitchen and then the utility room but now they are back out in the hutch on the patio and they seem to be enjoying it there.

In the garden
The boys love being out in the garden, they munch on the grass so much that they make a really effective mower!
The weather today has been wonderful with lots of sunshine after the rain last night, this has made the grass grow quickly and there are some really succulent shoots out there, or there were until Timo and Stanley got at them!

House move
Over the last weekend we moved the piggies from their place on the kitchen floor out into our porch where they are now at waist level which makes it easier to clean and feed them without having to go down on hands and knees.
They seem to like it, they have been much quieter and less quarrelsome than when they were in the kitchen although Stanley doesn't like the sound of the washing machine which is out in the porch as well.
I eventually hope to build them a twin level cage on the shelf their current cage is on to give them a bit more room and some interest.
